I don't need rodents for network outages

This morning Zabbix notified me that the zabbix agent on the system responsible for ZFS based backups had become unavailable. Upon checking system later today, the complete system was unreachable on the local network.

Soon enough the problem was identified:

One of our cats has had a keen interest in these Ubiquiti cables as soon as I installed them, but I never expected him to actually bite through it.

Next time the cat goes near the cables, I will scare him off good, but in a somewhat animal friendly way :-)
